We surprised Gabe with a ride on Thomas last Sunday! We didn’t say anything else than “we’re going out on a road trip for a big surprise”. Since he’s obsessed with trains, he did guess there would be some train involved, but he had NO idea! When he saw Thomas, he was actually speechless. Yes, it does happen! He was so happy he could hardly stand it! And now 5 days later, he still tells every person he sees that he rode on Thomas the tank engine. What a wonderful afternoon out!

Kumon

I’ve gotten Gabe a few Kumon books, following the advice of his teacher who thinks he’s ready for them. I love how Gabe just figured out the mazes. We also got the upper and lower case letters and the numbers. Such smart books, and very reasonably priced, they would make for great gifts for little ones.

Gabe’s 3rd birthday party at Pease Park

We had Gabe’s birthday party at the “special park” aka Pease splash pad. A perfect spot to have all the kiddos running around, very nice a partially shaded in the morning to sit with the babes while having adult discussions :)

Gabe also wanted a dinosaur cake, and all of his friends there. I think his wish was pretty well granted! He was very excited and it was a great party, everybody had fun.

Uncle Steve came for a visit

No words can describe how much Gabe loves his Uncle Steve. He only has eyes for him when he’s around! We went to the Austin Nature and Science Center, among other things.

We spent a good amount of time digging up dinosaur bones :)

We saw and helped build an 8ft tall LEGO Buzz Lightyear

Toy Story 3!

Rachel and I took Gabe (and Theo) to see Toy Story 3 today during baby day at the Alamo Drafthouse. Gabe did really well, had to get up a few times but overall had a lot of fun!
